Cost over quality: The never ending battle
We at Emailmovers love giving our clients a good deal on the work we do. Whether it be a validation project, delivery, design, or enhancement we understand that money does not grow on trees and we have to accommodate to our clients varying budgets.
Thankfully, this is relatively easy for us since we are a data owner. And along with a team of 30+ members actively working on the data on a regular basis we can ensure that the end product received will always be of high quality no matter what the price.
This being said, it hasn’t been easy for those in the data industry of late, with largely influential data providers pulling entire files from the market due to lack of compliance, changes to data legislation and then the EU referendum; data owners like ourselves are left questioning where we stand in all of this and do buyers really appreciate the amount of research and time that goes into making sure the services we provide are first-rate?
Well the truth speaks for itself. We have had clients come to us who understand that what we offer is of excellent quality but are still unprepared to pay a good price. Buying data for an email campaign is not like picking up a loaf of bread from your local co-op, we barter and bargain like the true salespeople we are and we enjoy it! But, there’s haggling and then there is devaluing.
We know we aren’t the cheapest on the market which is something we pride ourselves on however we aren’t the most expensive either; ridiculously low prices that seem too good to be true? They usually are. You can expect a campaign with a terrible click-through rate, a ‘clean’ file packed to the brim still with hard bounces and spam traps. Deliverable emails? Forget it! Chances are that the reason you have been quoted so little is because in the data game you must put in to get anything out.
Now I am not suggesting for a minute that you hurry off to blow your marketing budget with the most expensive company you know – but be data smart! Ask questions, ask for samples, ask us about our knowledge of the industry and what we know. Our job is to assist you in any which way possible and to achieve as much as possible for the best price.
